Conditions for transfer and the admissions process

Akadem Primary School is opening a preparatory year (Year 0) – more information for interested families HERE

1. The parent or guardian, together with the child, attends the admissions interview in person at an individually agreed time (please use the contact form, and we will offer you a meeting date).
2. At the admissions interview, the parent or guardian:
   • submits a written application for permission to transfer (the form can be downloaded from the school website, or completed at the school during enrolment);
   • presents personal documents: the child's birth certificate (or the child's identity card or passport) and their own proof of identity (identity card or passport), or a residence permit for the Czech Republic if applicable;
   • presents proof of previous education for the child (a school report extract for the first half of the 2024/2025 school year).
3. Based on the admissions interview, it is assessed whether and to what extent the applicant meets the criteria for education at Akadem Primary School. The school then determines the ranking of applicants, and the head teacher issues a decision on admission or non-admission.
4. We send the parent or guardian the proposed permission for transfer by e-mail,the decision on permission for transfer is handed to the parent or guardian upon signing the contract. If the transfer is not approved, we send the decision to the parent or guardian in writing (by post to the home address or to the contact address given in the transfer application).
5. Akadem Primary School will send official notification of the approved transfer to the school the pupil is leaving.

Admission criteria

Basic criteria for permission to transfer:

1. Submission of a written application, and personal attendance of the child and parent or guardian at the admissions interview.
2. The applicant meets the conditions for education according to the school's educational programme (assessed and verified by a member of school staff during the admissions interview).

Criteria for determining the ranking of applicants where the number of applicants meeting the basic criteria exceeds the number of places available:

1. The applicant has a sibling who is already a pupil at Akadem Primary School.
2. The applicant is resident in the Prague 2 district.
